DAY ONE: Dublin
Guests arrive at leisure and check into our central hotel. Day one's mission is simple: check out all the best pubs and bars that Dublin has to offer!
DAY TWO: Dublin - Galway
We leave Dublin at 8.30am and make our way to the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland. From there it’s on to Tullamore Dew Whiskey Distillery to learn how Uisce Beatha, the 'Water of Life', is made and get a real taste of Ireland. This stuff will warm the cockles of your heart!
We continue across the peat bogs to the rugged west coast of Ireland and beautiful Galway Bay. Known as the 'City of Tribes', Galway is sure to impress you with its unique character and vibrant atmosphere. Join your guide for a stroll to explore the bustling university town with its many street performers. You can go pub crawling and try to find some of the pubs that starred in Ed Sheeran’s ‘Galway Girl’ music video!
DAY THREE: Connemara
This morning we set off from Galway for the day to explore the wilds of Connemara National Park, famed for its rugged mountains, glacial lakes and misty peat bogs. We stop at Kylemore Abbey and hear a romantic story that's sure to bring a tear to your eye before having lunch in the town of Westport, with its quaint, colorful, 18th century streetscape. In the afternoon we pay a visit to the foot of Croagh Patrick for panoramic views over Clew Bay. At the foot of the holy mountain is Campbell’s Bar which has been serving pints of the black stuff to thirsty climbers for generations. After a day of adventure what else to do but head out to explore more of Galway’s legendary live music scene.
DAY FOUR: Galway - Father Ted - Ennis
Today we leave the city behind and make our way through the lunar landscape of the Burren, home to ancient tombs and mythological beings. We stop in the picturesque village of Doolin before heading to the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher. Stand on the edge of the world and try your best to capture the beauty on camera! The cliffs are famous the world over for their stunning views over the wild Atlantic Ocean and have been used as a backdrop in movies like Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince and The Princess Bride.
After lunch we will head to Kilfenora in County Clare for our Father Ted Tour! Visit Father Ted locations and the real Craggy Island. Follow in the footsteps of Ted, Dougal, Jack and Mrs. Doyle. Drink in their local pubs, have tea & cake with the real Mrs. Doyle! Re-enact “My Lovely Horse” or even stage a Mobile Mass… any kind of madness is possible!
Tonight we are staying in Ennis, County Clare; renowned as the home of traditional Irish music. The pubs are filled with locals, and visitors, playing 'trad' music, so pick your seat and join a proper Irish jam session singing about potatoes...
DAY FIVE: Ennis-Killarney
Today is all about breath-taking scenery, pub crawls and adventure! We travel south to the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry via the best pubs in the area and spend the afternoon exploring the dramatic coastline of the famous Slea Head Drive. Your Guide will take you to the edge of the ancient world and tell tales of our ancient heroes and warriors. Spot 'The Sleeping Giant' and 'The Three Sisters' along the rugged coastline, dotted with beautiful beaches. This evening we head to the town of Killarney, on the shores of Lough Leane.It is said that Tír na n Óg, the Land of Eternal Youth, is hidden beneath its waves. Killarney is renowned for its nightlife and it’s the perfect place to dance the night away!
DAY SIX: Killarney - Dublin
It’s time to leave the Kingdom of Kerry behind as we head towards Blarney Castle in the rebel county of Cork. The legendary castle was built by the MacCarthy’s of Muskerry and dates back to 1446. On the top of the castle sits the Stone of Eloquence, better known as the Blarney Stone. Now is your chance to hang upside-down 5 floors up and give the stone a big smacker to get the legendary ‘gift of the gab’. You will quickly realise that your Guide must have kissed the stone many, many times!
On the way back to Dublin we stop at the Rock of Cashel, once the seat of the Kings of Munster and perhaps visit one more famous pub before we reach the capital around 5.30pm and it’s time to say goodbye!
